Civil engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the infrastructure of the world which include Water Works. Sewers, Dams, Power Plants, Transmission Tower/Lines,Rail Roads, Highways, Bridges, Transport, Airport Runways, Terminals, Industrial Plants, Buildings, Skyscrapers, etc. Among the important subdivisions of the field are Construction Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering. Soil and Foundation Engineers are responsible for planning and designing a project, constructing the project to the required scale and maintenance of the project.
The Department of civil engineering imparts quality technical education and field training to Undergraduate students thus creating confidence to meet and accept the present day challenges of the field, With this aim, the department has vision to develop, convert and make each laboratory a full fledged one having updated modern equipments and instruments to carry out not only the routine academic activities but also to offer high quality technical consultancy services to government and private organizations.

Whose students who has passed 10+2 with non-medical or 2 years diploma from SLIET/ on basis of JEE
For Lateral Entry: Diploma in engineering in any stream
