The Department of Mechanical Engineering is well equipped to impart in-depth knowledge and training in the fields of Machine Design, Automobile Engineering, Refrigeration & Air- Conditioning, Hydraulic Machinery, I.C. Engines etc. The labs include Strength of Material Lab, Theory of Machine Lab, Applied Thermodynamic Labs, Fluid Mechanics, Fluid Machinery Lab, Heat Transfer Lab etc. Besides this, there are adequate workshop facilities. To broaden the outlook of students, we arrange their trips to various industries and their practical training in reputed industries of their concern. Exposure to the actual environment in the industry during there practical training helps them to adjust to the real work conditions. Students are given diffrents industry related projects. The faculty helps them with inovative ideas to develop new products for the industry.
As per the requirement of the industries and the corporate sector, the prominent feature of an engineer is to present the facts and content in the most logical manner. Apart from this a confident personality can lead a group and face any situation at corporate level. In order to inculcate such traits in the future engineers the department helps to boost their moral and develop their personality and communication skills by conducting various group discussion and seminars.

Whose students who has passed 10+2 with non-medical or 2 years diploma from SLIET/ on basis of JEE
For Lateral Entry: Diploma in engineering in any stream
